My recent work is inspired by organic forms in nature, such as flowers, vines, and clouds. Combining these shapes with simple wireframes and geometric styles is very interesting to me. I push organic forms to become compositions that are abstract and three dimensional. I use computer aided design to make much of my work, the versatility of these programs allows me to create the forms I envision.
Concerning the materials that I use for my jewelry, I combine 3D printed plastics with cast components in silver or bronze. I am interested in showing contrast in my surface finishes, such as a shiny surface against a matte one. I am also really interested in the simple innocence of white in my work and a minimalism in color use. For future works, I am interested in exploring other materials like fibers and ceramics, to add more textural contrast between soft and hard. I will also keep looking for ways to abstract organic shapes to make my work more complex. I want my work to have a broad appeal, with cute and cool elements combined into one piece.
