Justine Green
Since I was young, travel has been a major part of my life. I would often stare out the windows of the car or plane for hours daydreaming, with my head in the clouds. This part of my past has played a large role in my art as I often take imagery of the clouds and places I have lived and use it to tell a story. Each piece has a story, memory, or phase of my life infused into it. I find it important to make pieces that inspire me and contain minute details that make the viewer pause and look again. It helps me bring in a personal touch that the viewer may not be aware of. I want people to look at my jewelry and feel a connection with it as I do.
While I use a variety of materials and processes in each project, my style is consistent with how I blend the traditional fabrication of metal with 3D printing technology in order to create detailed layers within my work. I often use digital programs in order to replicate past places and travels in detail in order to truly bring the past to life. Casting has been a way in order to create more 3D pieces that the viewer can recognize the subject matter from any angle.
