Julia Campagna
BFA, Class of 2020
Julia Campagna
I’ve been drawn towards creating ever since I was young. I reference very literal forms, focusing on objects of shared childhood experience. These objects are playful yet vague, allowing the viewer to create their own narrative. I’m interested in wrapping one’s nostalgia up into a tangible trinket. By creating, I hope to draw out the seemingly insignificant memories people hold inside. The trivial moments that one might think are meaningless happen to be the very memories that stick with us forever. I want an audience to look at my work and be able to reflect on their own story. Put simply, I wish to invoke the feeling of lightheartedness and sentimentality.
